Learn about the logistics of the Great Wave of Immigration of 1830–1914, including reasons for emigrating, the patterns, travel to embarkation ports, ship travel, and travel in the U.S., and record keeping. As well as the major groups themselves, such as Germans, Irish, Jews, Poles, Italians, Czechs, and Lithuanians. Presented by Nicholas Fessende, Ph.D., who is the historian of the Baltimore Immigration Museum. Supported by the Bel Air Friends of HCPL.
