Four weekly storytelling, reading, and discussion sessions featuring award-winning children’s books are led by professional storytellers and storylovers. Families with children ages 6 to 13 will enjoy discussing children’s stories about such ideas as family, courage, and community. The Trials and Triumphs: A History of the African American Experience in Harford County exhibit chronicles the experiences of African Americans in County history from the earliest days through the twenty-first century and includes objects and stories that explore a sweep of experiences from slavery and segregation to community advancement and achievement. Funded through a grant from the Harford County Government, the project is a partnership between the Hosanna School Museum (HSM) and the Historical Society of Harford County, Inc. (HSHC). The exhibit will run February 15 - March 21.

They’ll take a walk down memory lane and share the magic of the Baltimore food scene, both past and present, and how it has influenced the foods we love. A Harford County favorite, acclaimed chef, food journalist, cookbook author and television host John Shields is the owner of Gertrude’s Chesapeake Kitchen at the Baltimore Museum of Art. John is often called "The Culinary Ambassador of the Chesapeake Bay," and he has written four popular cookbooks on the cuisine of the region. This presentation is part of Harford County Public Library's 2025 Winter Reading Program, "Cozy Up with a Good Book". Registration recommended.
