Chartered in 1827, the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was the nation's oldest railroad. In 1886, the opening of new tracks linked the B&O from New York City to Washington and Chicago. The new Aberdeen station was a critical component to the growth of the city. Aberdeen's canning industry and the US military shipped their products from the station. Passenger service gave locals easy access to all the major cities. Learn about the past, present and future of this historic 1886 station.
