The staff of the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Mobile Van work to promote wellness by sharing information on health topics, and provide a range preventative screenings accessible to the community.

The staff of the Upper Chesapeake Mobile Van work to promote wellness by sharing information on health topics, as well as making a range of preventative screenings accessible to the community. This month’s focus is on hydration. Testing for blood pressure, sleep disorder, body composition analysis, diabetes, and stroke are available free of charge. There is a nominal fee of $10 for Cholesterol and A1C checks. For more information, please contact Upper Chesapeake at 800-515-0044.

About the branch

The Jarrettsville Library is located near the intersection of Routes 165 and 23.  In addition to a meeting room, we have a spacious, natural light-filled reading area in which visitors may read or connect their devices to WIFI.

This program takes participants through guided ground-based activities that may intrinsically motivate learners. There is no riding involved. Through this innovative approach to learning, participants have fun and are learning at the same time. This equine experience is designed to be inspiring and interactive as well as educational. Supported by the Norrisville Friends of HCPL. Each child attending must register prior to the program.
