Learn the importance of kindness and how to use storybooks to teach kindness with clinical psychologist Dr. Melissa Munro Boyd. Make a kindness bracelet to take home. Dr. Boyd is the author of the "Skills for Kids" series of books, including "Kindness is Cool."
In recognition of February being Kindness Month, the Edgewood Branch is excited to welcome clinical psychologist and author Dr. Melissa Munro Boyd, who will present on the importance of kindness, compassion, and empathy. She will discuss acts of kindness at school, home, and in communities and discuss friendship skills such as listening, cooperating, sharing and helping others. Dr. Boyd is the author of the Skills for Kids series and she will share two of her picture books, "Better Together" and "Kindness is Cool." Books will be available for purchase following her presentation and children can participate in hands on activities, including creating kindness bracelets.
